What are the marks or grades that I may issue to students for middle/high school report cards?

Following are the standard middle and high school grade marks for report cards that teachers may issue:

MARK CODES

A.............. Outstanding Achievement

B.............. Good Achievement

C.............. Satisfactory Achievement

D.............. Minimum Achievement

F............... Failure Due To Unsatisfactory Achievement

I................Incomplete (See note below)

P.............. Pass (See note below)

N or NM.. No Mark (See note below)

x*............. A letter-grade mark with an asterisk indicates a course with modified curriculum for special education students. Corresponding Comment “6” should also be issued for the affected class.  See Comments section below.

+ or ...... A plus (+) or minus (-) may be issue along with a letter grade except for semester/final report cards.  A plus (+) or minus (-) issued for a final/semester report card will be deleted and will not appear on report cards or permanent records. PLUS (+) MINUS (-) MARKS DISCONTINUED STARTING SCHOOL YEAR 2017-2018.

E..... Excellent Citizenship

S..... Satisfactory Citizenship

U..... Unsatisfactory Citizenship

W.... Warning (may not be issued for final/semester report card)

 

COMMENTS

1...... Student is doing excellent work.

2...... Student participates well in class.

3...... Student makes consistent effort.

4...... Student’s work/behavior is improving.

5...... Absences/Tardies affecting grade.

6...... Modified curriculum (special education students only). Letter grade should also have an * (asterisk) applied to the letter grade issued. See x* in the Mark Codes section above.

7...... Must bring textbook/materials to class/physical education uniform.

8...... Must compete classroom/homework assignment.

9...... Must improve classroom behavior.

10.... Teacher-Parent conference requested at school.

In addition, the Curriculum & Instruction Office has issued the following policy regarding the issuance of N, I, and P marks:
