OS/iOS and Browser Requirements from CAASPP
This information is being shared with you from the CAASPP website regarding interim and sbac testing.
Students cannot access online interim assessments using a device
running Mac OS X 10.11.

Download the Mac OS X (10.7-10.12) Secure Browser:
for Mac OS 10.7-10.12, prior to testing
Installing Secure Browser for Mac OS X
This procedure installs Secure Browser on desktop computers running Mac OS X 10.6–10.12. The steps in this procedure may vary depending on your version of Mac OS X and your web browser.
1.Remove any previous versions of the secure browser by dragging its folder to the Trash.
2.Click the Download Browser link. A dialog window opens. If prompted for a download location, select the desktop.
3.Open Downloads from the Dock, and double-click
SecureBrowserX.X-YYYY-MM-DD-signed.dmg to display its contents.
4.Drag the CASecureBrowser icon to the folder. This installs the secure browser into Applications.
5.Disable Mission Control/Spaces. Instructions for disabling Spaces are in the Technical Specifications Manual for Online Testing.
6.Double-click the CASecureBrowser icon on the desktop to launch the secure browser. (You must launch the secure browser to complete the installation.) The secure browser opens displaying the student login screen. The browser fills the entire screen and hides the dock.
7.To exit the browser, click Close in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Mac OS 10.6: The secure browser disables Exposé (hot corner) settings if they are set, and the settings remain disabled after the browser is closed.
8.Ensure all background jobs, such as virus scans or software updates, are scheduled outside of test windows. For example, if your testing takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., schedule background jobs outside of these hours.
Depending on your version of OS X, disable the following features:
- Exposé or Spaces
- Application Launches from Function Keys
- Updates to Third-Party Apps
- Updates to iTunes
- Look-Up Gesture

Installing the AIRSecureTest App for iOS
The AIRSecureTest mobile secure browser for iPads is available from the App Store. The process for installing the secure browser is the same as for any other application.
1.On your iPad, tap the download button above. The AIRSecureTest application download page appears.
2.Tap Free. The button changes to Install App.
3.Tap Install App.
4.Enter your Apple ID and password. The AIRSecureTest mobile secure browser app downloads and installs onto your iPad. Look for the AIRSecureTest icon.

If students cannot access online interim assessments using a device
- Disable fast user switching,
Disable the Launchpad,
Disable Mission Control/Spaces.
Users of iOS 9.1 and earlier will be required to update to iOS 9.2
